School is getting so much better everyday!
Had written communication today with Mr Ramani - he's awesome.
So we had to talk about our ambitions and interests. it was quite challenging for me, because i have completely no idea what i was gonna be, despite having a teeeny weeeeny idea. well, i loved writing, so that was my stated interest and ambition.
He then talked about writing as a career, and about graduates who have succeeded today. it was really inspiring and insightful. he said that we should be sure of what we want to do, and what we want to achieve. cause that brings about passion, which will help us do well.
it really made me think about myself, what i wanna be and what are my interests. well, i've been doing about everything since pri sch, from sports to clubs and stuff. i have never really been faithful to any one; which is kinda disappointing. the bright side, however, is that i have tried everything. and after his nice talk and encouragements, i do have a better idea ;)
as media people, our job is to find and deliver the truth. we have to develop smth like a second skin; able to take criticism, critique, bad remarks and so on. yet at the same time we do not live to please the world, or write things they would love to hear.
what he said really reminded me why im here in mass com. media is powerful and influential, and i wanna be the good influence, presenting thoughts and points of view to the public. therefore, as of today, i realised what i wanna be. hahahaa~ hoping it would stay that way *fingers crossed*
i shall write, because the pen is mightier that the sword. and words bring life, or death. i will find the truth and give it to the world, whether they like it or not. it does feel awesome to find something to be passionate about; especially for me. in year 3, i'll most probably take journalism & publishing, out of the three routes. which is awesome, because i love books, and i love writing.
and maybe without justin i wouldnt be so sure of myself too. but right now, im kinda able to picture myself a few years from now; which is quite a feat, being clueless from the start. thank God for placing a passion in me, and for sending people around me to motivate me.
so yeah, school's great, and its gonna be an awesome sem! ;)
